Located 1 block from Elk Ave, fine restaurants, and unique shops and galleries, the Elk Mountain Lodge has become the premier hotel in downtown Crested Butte. When we proceeded to try and check out after loading our vehicle they ignored us completely. Elk Mountain Lodge, 129 Gothic Ave., Crested Butte, CO 81224. The staff was aggressive and extremely rude over this issue and also accused our group of threatening hotel guests and breaking into the hot tub. The following morning we were harassed by a bald man telling that we were a-holes and had kept everyone in the building up by showering and being noisy. After a long day and travel we all took showers, chatted for a bit and went to sleep around 1am. We arrived around 1015pm and put our luggage in our room before going to have a drink with a friend living in Crested Butte. We checked in after hours because we had to travel across the state after getting off work. As CO locals, my partner and I were very upset with the way the staff treated our friends as well as ourselves. I stayed here with some friends from PA during March of 2021. She was so kind and efficient and brilliant, she had great advice and recommendations, and nothing was too much trouble.… The best part was the staff, especially Kim, who went above and beyond to make our stay perfect - and we saw her doing the same for other guests. This upscale hotel boasts stunning views, top-notch amenities, and a prime location just minutes from some of the region’s most popular attractions. We put our kids in Room 9 across the hall, the room was slightly larger and you could still glimpse mountains out the window, but most of the view was of the neighboring house. If you’re looking for a luxurious getaway in the beautiful mountains of North Carolina, the Best Western Mountain Lodge at Banner Elk is an excellent choice. We stayed in Room 8 and had a gorgeous view of the snow covered roofs and mountains. The breakfasts were also delicious, way exceeding my expectations. We were there with our kids and the grandparents, and really appreciated being able to hang out together in the lobby area, playing games around the fire, having tea and irish coffees in the evenings. It's in a great location just a couple minutes walk from the main street with all the shops and restaurants, and the shuttle up to the mountain. We loved our stay here! Grab your gear out of the trunk of your vehicle, walk over to the base of lifts E and F, and hop on the Elkwagen, a free ride to the main lodge.
